Great care must be taken when using herbs. They look harmless --just plants, but in reality they are powerful medicine. Good judgement is so important.

The medicinal herb comes from trees or from the common weed found growing in the fields--and everything in between. Bark, buds, roots, nuts, flowers and leaves provide health and healing. Each plant [herb] has a power and it has to not only match the problem but match the person. What works for one does not necessarily work for another. We will help you find what you need or will make up any salve or infusion at your request. We are open to any and all suggestions. .

We strongly suggested that they not be combined in use with over-the-counter, prescription drugs or other herbal treatments. Three days or more, should clear the skin and be ready for the treatment.  A comprehensive understanding of the herb should be taken into account and never used without due consideration and care.

Their properties and history should be reviewed on the individual basis of each herb, before taking it internally.

Externally it important also, but it can be tested on a small area [ usually the inside of the elbow or behind the knee]] for reaction and should be discontinued immediately if there is an unfavorable response to the herbal preparation.

This said, we have available a few fresh herbs and a small variety of dried ones from our own garden. Our herb garden is absolutely free of any commercial pesticide or fertilizer. Crop rotation, cover crops, natural plant teas and worm castings are used and given time, give excellent results.[We even have a compost pile with our [large] and productive family of
red worms, [we have removed the trivia page, due to lack of space, let us know if you would like it returned to the site or if you would like a copy of the red worm information and a bit about Darwin and his study on worms]

The bulk herbs are purchased on a regular basis from other sources and we make an effort to use herbs grown in America. We have read their history carefully to determine whether it is certified organically grown as crops or wild harvested.

When we receive the order we inspect it carefully. This same procedure is used for our salve ingredients, taste, smell and a thorough inspection--as well as testing on ourselves for satisfactory end results.

We have over the years prepared herbs together and/or separate for a variety of ailments and skin conditions.

We make use of the properties from a particular herb that we find most effective and use the herb or herbs in preparing; teas, tonics, tinctures, infusions, cough syrups, poultices, liniment and/or pain rubs for arthritis, aches, strains and sprains, as well as preparing salves, ointments and washes for skin conditions. These are among the uses of these miracle medications and depend on what we wish a given herb to do for us.
